About Cedarstitch Designs
At Cedarstitch Designs, we see embroidery as an art form. Whether it is an original design or a customer's logo on our machine, we take pride in paying special attention to the nuanced details that can be created with stitches, thread, textures and colors.
The process of turning a logo or art file into an embroidery file - known as Digitizing - is outsourced by most embroidery shops. However, at Cedarstitch we have chosen to do it all of our Digitizing in-house. This has required intensive training and a steep learning curve, but has resulted in the ability to finish our customers' custom designs in a more complete and creative way. It is amazing how much an embroidered design can come alive by simply altering the density or angle of a stitch!
Once digitized, a file can be embroidered onto any number of garments or fabrics, including hats, jackets, sweatshirts, pillows, beanies...the list goes on. The small size of our operation and low overhead allow us to keep costs down for our customers. We are contracted with multiple garment suppliers and can easily source any blank item our customers would like embroidered. Our multi-head machine makes quick work of big projects, and we like to say there is no job too big or too small for Cedarstitch Designs. Whether it is a single name on a Christmas stocking or many hundred logo-ed polo shirts for your work crew, Cedarstitch Designs would love the opportunity to help!
Cedarstitch was born out of the owner's passion for customization and creativity. Operated out of the home that Brian and Amy Ottaway share with their two boys, Jackson and Dylan, the embroidery studio is nestled in a cedar forest on top of Chehalem Mountain, surrounded by vineyards and pastures. The setting itself inspires creativity and peaceful introspection. Cedar trees, which inspired the naming of the company, tower over the studio in all directions, while a year-round creek and pond bring wildlife of many forms past our windows. The design studio opened in the basement of the Ottaway family home, but a 2023 construction project is underway to create a new larger and more complete workspace for the rapid growth of the company!
